The shipping and logistics business is HUUUUGE. Many of us don't really think about it... well we didn't either. But shipping is very profitable. Getting moms sandals, the TPS reports, skis, and even birthday cards sent to our loved ones generates a lot of money.

It's insane how much money many courier company's make transporting our stuff. Voyago started with just the need to get things sent internationally. We later realized many people have problems getting stuff sent in certain countries. Places in very very unstable markets like Africa was our initial testing grounds.

Our co-founder Abraham, needed to ship stuff from Zambia to the US but faced unbelievable hurdles. He mentioned:

"I came up with the idea when I was staying in Lusaka. The businesses who ship are the major couriers like FedEx and DHL. You have some local co's but they are untrusted. Shipping in many places in Africa let alone Zambia is taking a big gamble."

Why People HATE FedEx, DHL, USPS, EMS, and the others...

It's amazing how long I've been subjected by modern day shipping companies. For years I haven't realized how much money I've spent shipping packages. Shipping overall is not the best experience for many people. With very poor customer service, a multitude of steps, charges that are bloated, and other major issues it makes one feel put off. Their services offered is so poor one would think that they try to make people not want to send stuff at all. Shipping goods all over the world MUST CHANGE! For many small to medium sized businesses it's a burden to ship in a cost-effective manner. Amazon.com, Etsy, ebay.com, etc... and many other online sites can afford to offer free and next day shipping since they have the money and volume of shipments to do so. Voyago App is launched!

We have made excellent progress this month. The Voyago app is finally launched. Wow, it's amazing how much work and effort is needed to build an app. My respect for many developers and coders who find the long hours to build an app. Voyago started months ago with a simple idea. What If we could bundle all the resources of the shipping/courier process in a single app. We set out to research and work our butts off to ensure that Voyago made getting packages from one part of the world to the next. The task of such a process was intense. We had many obstacles and challenges in such a monumental task. How would we tap into our social networks? What about scanning technologies? And most of all who would pay for this?
