Round 1: Amazon Flex vs Voyago

Ok so you now realize that Voyago is not a new concept! Amazon Flex is it's core competitor. Yes, we said it, Amazon. Amazon the major global US based digital behemoth that eats company's for a snack. Voyago may be competing with the worlds largest online retailer. But we have something they don't! A viable shipping app. Several years ago Amazon launched a means to disrupt the shipping business. Makes sense. You're delivering packages why not take over the last mile delivery aspect to the consumer. Well... that's what they at least thought. When the rubber hit the road reality was a bit different.
What Amazon didn't expect was the logistic nightmare of what it takes to get mail and items delivered successfully to peoples homes and business. The key thing they failed to iron out was their model.

The model Amazon Flex uses to deliver is essentially cloning how every delivery company moves package "X" from point A to point B. This is the lazy mans approach to solving the age old problem of delivering mail. It's very basic and simple that it cried "USE MEEEEEE!" One thing that Voyago avoids like the plague.

 Do not be like all the other shipping couriers on the market. 

This is very important. What makes Voyago different is it's new social shipping model. We heavily rely on social media as the pillar of communication between sender and receiver.





When we first heard about Amazon we didn't really know what to think. As a person who shops on Amazon for years I never actively saw anything that stated using regular people to get my order delivered. But Amazon uses people similar to how shady co's use interns. "Do the bulk of my work, but... get paid in peanuts" Personally, this model won't work for long. Simply, due to the fact that people know the hard work it is to deliver anything to people around town. Plus, the pay may be good but then you're dealing with the bureaucracy of Amazon.com which doesn't make life easier either.



Voyago is cool since it doesn't worry about a lot of the issues inherent to hiring contractors. Which Amazon Flex also deems it's couriers to be. We also rely on people sending packages to review, review, review the people delivering your items. If they are untrusted or don't have a proven track record of success find someone else. Voyago starts with strong social networks which creates a level of trust. If people don't trust you then chances are you will need to build that level of trust with friends and family before they will let you handle their goods. Something Amazon Flex should build within their app.

It's amazing how long I've been subjected by modern day shipping companies. For years I haven't realized how much money I've spent shipping packages. Shipping overall is not the best experience for many people. With very poor customer service, a multitude of steps, charges that are bloated, and other major issues it makes one feel put off. Voyago App is launched!

We have made excellent progress this month. The Voyago app is finally launched. Wow, it's amazing how much work and effort is needed to build an app. My respect for many developers and coders who find the long hours to build an app. Voyago started months ago with a simple idea. What If we could bundle all the resources of the shipping/courier process in a single app. We set out to research and work our butts off to ensure that Voyago made getting packages from one part of the world to the next. The task of such a process was intense. We had many obstacles and challenges in such a monumental task. How would we tap into our social networks? What about scanning technologies? And most of all who would pay for this?
