$150 Billion+

The shipping and logistics business is HUUUUGE. Many of us don't really think about it... well we didn't either. But shipping is very profitable. Getting moms sandals, the TPS reports, skis, and even birthday cards sent to our loved ones generates a lot of money. It's insane how much money many courier company's make transporting our stuff. Voyago started with just the need to get things sent internationally. We later realized many people have problems getting stuff sent in certain countries. Places in very very unstable markets like Africa was our initial testing grounds. Our co-founder Abraham, needed to ship stuff from Zambia to the US but faced unbelievable hurdles. He mentioned: "I came up with the idea when I was staying in Lusaka. The businesses who ship are the major couriers like FedEx and DHL. You have some local co's but they are untrusted. Shipping in many places in Africa let alone Zambia is taking a big gamble."  - Abe We came ac...

FedEx worker dies unloading plane at Memphis International Airport

Image
TRAGIC! How, could a global company such as FedEx allow something to happen! Words can't express how unfortunate this loss truly is. Our team has deepest apologies for the family of the woman who lost her life this past holiday season. We feel that workplace safety is crucial to any multi-national corporation as FedEx. The company directors should examine their company role in preventing these situations from taking place. The loss of a any life within the company is unacceptable. Voyago "FedEx worker dies unloading plane at Memphis International Airport" This event marks another reason why FedEx only thinks about profits. The company should have all the preventive measures in place to prevent loss of life from taking place. The article goes on to say that "The female employee was found fatally injured under a motorized conveyor belt.". This situation shows the negligence FedEx has exercised. Death in the work place is a sign that the supervisor in charg...

Voyago-er Security

Image
As a Voyago-er it can be a pain dealing with fraud and bumps in the road. Voyago launched a shipping company with an unprecedented amount of risk. Anyone has the ability to create a lot of headaches when shipping using an app and people who don't officially work for a company. This is where trust comes into play. But with trust comes timing and years of vetting. Ensuring someone who is a friend of mine on social media is actually who they say they are. Very very hard to do. Even Facebook has gone through major steps to prove that people are really friends of users. Voyago is required to do this as well. Which is the heart of user reviews, thorough delivery user checks and also using the features in our app. When a Voyago-er makes a delivery for someone they are taking on loads of responsibility. We don't encourage everyone to deliver packages. To be honest there's a lot of risk. Many people don't have what it takes to be a courier. You may work long hours, deal with ...

Round 1: Amazon Flex vs Voyago

Image
Ok so you now realize that Voyago is not a new concept! Amazon Flex is it's core competitor. Yes, we said it, Amazon. Amazon the major global US based digital behemoth that eats company's for a snack. Voyago may be competing with the worlds largest online retailer. But we have something they don't! A viable shipping app. Several years ago Amazon launched a means to disrupt the shipping business. Makes sense. You're delivering packages why not take over the last mile delivery aspect to the consumer. Well... that's what they at least thought. When the rubber hit the road reality was a bit different. What Amazon didn't expect was the logistic nightmare of what it takes to get mail and items delivered successfully to peoples homes and business. The key thing they failed to iron out was their model. The model Amazon Flex uses to deliver is essentially cloning how every delivery company moves package "X" from point A to point B. This is the lazy mans app...
